Staffordshire PM Conference

The PMA understands the training needs in general practice and the wider health & social care settings and has now supported the development of NHS staff for over a decade.

We have successfully engaged thousands of your colleagues to refresh and to bridge gaps in their skills and knowledge through the creation and delivery of a comprehensive selection of workshops.

The PMA now has over 120 workshops – but what makes us unique is that our programmes are never a ‘one model fits all’. PMAs workshops can be adapted to meet any specific locality requirements – so please get in touch if you have a specific training need or requirement that is not listed as we would be happy to create something bespoke for you. Equally we are experienced in creating wide-ranging learning programmes.

The web workshops provide practice staff with access to virtual training, which can be delivered in a convenient time window to meet your specific needs. These workshops can also be delivered face to face, if required.

If you want more information on the PMA web workshops or are interested in PMA developing a bespoke programme, please get in touch.

Inclusive and Accessible

PMA is committed to inclusiveness and accessibility. The learner and practice staff-centred sessions will seek to embrace the principle of inclusive learning. These sessions will be delivered in cohorts. Whether face-to-face or virtual, we will engender a learning environment where we all agree to the principles of:

  • Togetherness – and as this is an opt-in opportunity to be included in the programme, we’ll agree on openness and the need and desire to change.
  • Equality, where we are all equal – we can’t change the past but we can change the future.
  • Participation and engagement – where all voices will be heard.
  • Respect and acceptance.
  • Acceptance and agreement of the rules of the room and the rules of engagement.
  • Embracing individual differences.
  • Embracing the Principle of Change.

Building confidence and affirming their identity as valued team members will support their learning and their engagement with the changes needed.

Leading with Clarity and Effective Communication

In today's fast-paced and ever-evolving organisational landscape, groups and teams often lack clear aims, plans or agreed boundaries for working effectively together. Exploring how to create clarity of a shared strategic direction, clear plans and responsibilities, and clarity of the required behaviours that form the desired reputation for a team and patients has never been more essential. The final part of the jigsaw is to inspire and engage teams with clear and impactful communication.

Understanding and Overcoming Imposter Syndrome in Leaders

Research indicates that a staggering 82% of leaders experience imposter syndrome, characterised by feelings of unworthiness and self-doubt regarding their success and achievements. This psychological phenomenon often leads to low confidence and manifests in behaviours such as perfectionism, micro-management, and constant comparisons with others. By delving into the underlying role of the ego in driving these behaviours and applying targeted techniques, leaders can overcome imposter syndrome and perform at their natural best.

Group Consultations

Imagine a service in which it’s easier to get to see your doctor or nurse and you get to spend around 45 mins with them in an informal setting. The key objective of Group Consultations is to help patients access the right care at the earliest opportunity. There are numerous drivers for this patient centred approach and outcomes will include a more streamlined GP workload, improving efficiencies in terms of access to services and patient satisfaction. It will achieve this by releasing valuable GP time and resources.
