Becoming a GP practice partner can be a daunting transition – and you can be forgiven for thinking that you ‘don’t know what you don’t know’.
All partners in general medical practices need to understand their responsibilities and their liabilities. The legalities of partnership agreement can be complex, this includes partnership law and employment and HR management; accounting and financial management issues including income, expenditure and tax implications.
There may be the complex options of premises ownership as well as having an overview of business management operational delivery, building and developing strategy, and the ability to lead change across the practice, and understanding the reporting and governance frameworks of general practice.
Finally, but not least is the digital transformation in general practice – the IT infrastructure, workflows and correspondence management we must support the business and the flow of patient data across the practice, the PCN and the wider health care environment.
NHS England and NHS Improvement are supporting new partners through the New to Partnership Payment Scheme, but all partners whether GPs, other registered health care professionals or managers need to have sound understanding of the implications of being a partner.
Workshops can be booked individually and are priced at £125.00 per workshop.
If you would like to book multiple sessions and would prefer these to be invoiced in one go, please email us at enquiries@pma-uk.org
