This 3-hour web workshop will focus on Information Governance, Data Protection and GDPR issues.

There has never been a more important time to ensure that best practice is in place to secure patient and staff data, protect reputation and ensure compliance. A planned and structured approach is required to fully understand the necessary changes for both systems and user behaviour. And a good understanding of Information Governance and Data Protection is pivotal to the GDPR compliance of the practice.

The programme will be facilitated by experts in both Information Governance and Primary and will be very interactive.

You will need to understand what is considered personal data and the responsibility the use and sharing of it brings. Learning how oversee a good safe practice where effective management of information can assist in the provision of good quality care and be a cornerstone of good governance, it will help in understanding the need to incorporate data protection into day to day practice and planning.

Understanding the changes that the new regulations bring and preparing for them gives a great opportunity for us all to refresh our knowledge and understanding confidentiality, integrity and availability of data. In an age where our patient’s confidence and trust is ever more put under strain, understanding an individuals rights including access to their own information helps to build positive relationships.

This workshop is designed to present what we all need to do to maintain good safe information practice and what is needed to comply with our responsibilities under data protection.  Helping to understand common data security risks, frequent errors and their impact. The identification and reporting of incidents and near misses and bringing good practices to the workplace.
