With the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), that came into force in May 2018, more attention is focused on ensuring healthcare staff use and share information in a legal and secure way.
You will need to understand what is considered personal data and the responsibility the use and sharing of it brings. Learning how good, safe management of information can assist in the provision of good quality care and be a cornerstone of good governance, it will help in understanding the need to incorporate data protection into day to day practice and planning.
Understanding the changes that the new regulations bring and preparing for them gives a great opportunity for us all to refresh our knowledge and understanding confidentiality, integrity and availability of data. In an age where our patient’s confidence and trust is ever more put under strain, understanding an individual’s rights including access to their own information helps to build positive relationships.
This web workshop is designed to present what we all need to do to maintain good safe information practice and what is needed to comply with our responsibilities under data protection. Helping to understand common data security risks, frequent errors and their impact. The identification and reporting of incidents and near misses and bringing good practices to the workplace.
This web workshop is practical and easily digestible for those with responsibility and liability for Information Governance within the Primary Care sector. The day is facilitated by experts in both Information Governance and Primary Care and will be very interactive. It will seek to provide clarity and an objective approach in preparing for all aspects of Information Governance and GDPR.
