Digital systems are the foundation upon which we will build a modern, efficient and responsive health service. Enabling information to flow between care providers within and beyond organisational boundaries, and between care providers and patients, is a key means by which we will achieve a safe, convenient and personalised health and care service.

The key objective of this workshop is for non-clinical staff to understand the advantages of a digitally transformative practice. This session includes an in depth look at all those online resources available within practice to streamline access to healthcare for patients and streamline workload for a more efficient practice.

Understanding new Digital ways of working and what it means for Primary care:

  • Recent technological changes

  • Clinical IT systems and third-party software i.e., Ardens, AccuRX, Klinic, e-Consult etc.
  • NHS app
  • Local E-consult platform used and who can be redirected
  • Accurx, Ardens, etc.
  • GP Appointments Data Dashboard – NHS Digital (Gpad)
  • NHS Spine’ and facility to transfer NHS GP records virtually between practices within 24/48 hours of registration, when all necessary information is correct and accepted.
  • Explore ‘GP2G data transfer’ process and how this data must be reviewed and managed
IT at the centre your practice

  • E-referral system
  • Use of IT auditing functions for LES, DES, vaccinations and immunisations
  • Quality audits for clinical and prescribing data
  • Use of templates
  • Read coding – SNOMED
  • Standard policy for practice coding
