PMA Workshops for Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) and Health Boards (HB)
Aiming to deliver rapid in-year training to empower and develop practice managers, to develop resilience in general practice and to prepare for more integrated models of working in the future.
For some time now, the PMA have been commissioned to provide bespoke workshops to a growing number of CCGs and HBs across England and Wales. The series of full-day workshops are specifically focused on the business aspects of General Practice. PMs collectively select which sessions best fit local development needs. All workshops are delivered by specialists in these areas and are tailored, as necessary, to accommodate regional differences. As workshops are delivered locally, they are easily accessible presenting good support and networking opportunities for practice managers across the locality.
One of the noticeable features of the workshops has been the level of engagement during all sessions. Over and above the specialist facilitation, one of the real values has been the group interaction. There has been a visible team approach to problem-solving and clear buy-in to the experience and insight already within the groups. The facilitators have honed this collaborative approach which will continue to benefit all practices within CCGs and HBs.
Delegates who complete any six PMA workshops receive an Excellence in Practice Management Certificate awarded by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).

Earlier this year, the PMA were fortunate enough to deliver workshops to practice managers in Cwm Taf University Health Board. There were a number of workshops which helped bridge the gap in local development needs.

Understanding Accounts, Accounting Systems & the Tax System
The foundation programme for this series of workshops. It focuses on the business management of general practice. Practice accounts and partnership issues are explained in a user-friendly interactive way.
