As part of Operation Warm Welcome, PMA is working alongside the DWP to support those Afghan citizens who have resettled in the UK to find work and integrate into UK life. 

The Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS) launched last month and the UK has promised to rehome thousands of Afghan nationals who escaped the country after the Taliban regained power last year. 

In addition to offering a place of safety for those fleeing conflict and persecution, the initiative also helps people find appropriate work and PMA will be working hard to match people with the right job role or arrange valuable work experience. 

Austin Ambrose, PMA Client Services Director, said: “We are determined to support this incredibly worthwhile scheme. A lot of people who’ve travelled here from Afghanistan are highly qualified and could easily take up a role in Primary Care in the next few weeks, they simply need the support and guidance to get there.” 

He added: “As we’ve recently launched PMA Recruit, we are best placed to match and support people into work in the health and social care sector and more importantly, find the right – and most rewarding – role for them. We have dozens of new vacancies coming through each week and will be liaising with the DWP to fill them.” 

The ACRS is part of the New Plan for Immigration, supporting the world’s most vulnerable to come here legally and provide tens of thousands of at-risk people with the chance to start a new life in the UK.
